Getting Postal ID in just 30 mins tops

Need a valid I.D.? Well getting a postal I.D. is the fastest.

Yes. You need to get a one or two Valid I.D. one of this days. You need this for getting a passport, in your work place or anything else to see your credibiilty that you are existing and a member in the society.

I suggest you start as early as possible like upon Graduating or upon turning 18.

If you don't have such, it's not too late. Patience is a virtue for other valid I.D's such as SSS, Voter's I.D, TIN.. What the heck! It was stressfull. Some of these companies are digitized and you need to set an appointment.

As for getting a Postal I.D, I finished it all  in one day! Cool right?

All you need is a Valid I.D. (geez! we do really need to get one), Cedula, and Brgy. Clearance. All originals.

These are the other requirements in getting a postal I.D

HOW TO APPLY FOR A POSTAL ID (got this from Sexy Nomad's blog)

1. Go to the nearest PhilPost Office. It is best if you go to the post office in your zip code.

- For more information click this.

2. Ask for a copy of the Postal ID Application Form or Form No. 391.

I went there at about 2 o'clock. Wednesday, 2:00 o'clock PM. There was no lineThere's a man called "Sir Pogi" he is very accommodating. They will assist you with everything. They do ask for a fee to get the forms photo copied.

3. Fill in the upper half portion of the application form with your personal data.

4. Have this type written by "Mr. Pogi."
5. Have your picture taken.

- Well there's a new policy. You need not to get a picture as they will get your picture and laminate it themselves. This is so to prevent from other people changing pictures.

5. Bring the application form to your Barangay Hall.
7. Request for a Certification from the Barangay Captain that you are a resident of the Barangay. The Barangay Captain will fill up the bottom portion of your application form and give you a photocopy of his/her valid ID. He may or may not ask to retain 1 copy of the application form.

- This is case to case basis, so better find that out. I haven't done this.

8. While you are in the Barangay Hall, get a Community Tax Certificate. You need this to complete your application form.

- This small form is important. Don't lose it. You can use it for many purposes. Valid in one year. And it costs depending on how much you earn.

9. Have the application form duly notarized. There is usually a notary public near barangay halls. The notary public will ask for a copy of the notarized document. Notarization costs around P150 per document.
10. Make sure you have an NSO certified copy of your birth or marriage certificate.

11. Submit the following to the post office: 1) Duly accomplished application form [notarized with attached photocopy of the Barangay Captain's valid ID]; 2) NSO certified copy of birth or marriage certificate; and 3) P175 postal ID fee. The postal ID fees vary from city to city.

his is the long process. You can ask around how to get it faster. :)

12. Expect to come back for the ID after a few days.
- I got mine in less than one hour.

Estimated Total Cost: P500 is enough.
1. ID Card - P175
2. Photo service - P70
3. Lamination- P25

- Plus an extra fee to help me get the form Notarized. Includes fare and Carbonating documents. Do the math.

Walaaaaaaaa...Me and My postal ID. Excuse the crappy picture.
